Masakhe Indoda Goes Live on Air!

Masakhe Indoda Club had been granted an incredible chance to talk and inform public about the purpose, vision and mission of this club. In a powerful step in amplifying men’s voices, Masakhe Indoda has taken its message to the airwaves. With Ms Blaq Maci at Umhlobo Wenene FM, Mr Sonwabo Notshulwana the PRO from Masakhe has shared with listeners about this club and its offerings and how can men take part and be part of this movement. Held at the SABC studio on the 08 July 2025, Masakhe Indoda has shared the vision and mission of this club using the power of radio which is mediacy and connection.

Going live also reinforces Masakhe Indoda’s mission — to build stronger, healthier men who in turn uplift their families and communities. The broadcast serves as both a voice and a mirror, reflecting the realities men face while also providing guidance, encouragement, and practical solutions. This session with Blaq also gave an open platform to listeners to ask questions about the Club, how to be part of it and what exactly is expected of them if they form part of the group.

Going live was a call to action, and it yielded positive results as Masakhe received quite a few enquiries about the club and many trying to understand its involvement with social upliftment.

Fatherhood with Purpose: Indoda Eyakhayo- Building Legacies, not just Lives.

With June being the Men’s Wellness month, Masakhe Indoda Club has organised and hosted a successful dialogue on June 14, 2025, at Black Impala in Gqeberha. With a society that usually dismisses men’s emotional well-being, Masakhe has taken it upon themselves to acknowledge men and built a platform to share and empower each other.

This powerful and heartfelt dialogue focused on acknowledging and addressing men’s mental health. The session created a safe, supportive space where men could openly share their experiences, challenges, and journeys without fear of judgment. The dialogues also focused on applauding men who are present fathers and who are strong enough to come forward to share their experiences and are open enough to shape and encourage one another to build strong legacies.

Through honest conversations and mutual support, the dialogue emphasized the importance of standing together as men. Men’s wellness also matters, and Masakhe Indoda Club is seeking to stretch the net wide to other men within the region and welcome to the club.

Finding community through shared stories and brotherhood.

Masakhe Indoda Club hosted a successful Open Day Session on the 31 January 2025, and the aim was to introduce the club’s vision, mission and impact on the community. The session created a safe and open space for engagement, encouraging meaningful conversations around personal growth, brotherhood, and community upliftment. An open invitation was extended to men who are eager to learn and join this club as Masakhe continues to build, support and empower one another.

The session was held virtual with members of the Club openly sharing stories in the session as means of testifying how the club has shaped their direction as men. Stories and testimonies were shared showcasing the goodness being done by this club not only in the lives of these men but to those around them at large.

This one-hour session chaired by Mr Masixole Maxamba was insightful with an open invitation to other men who don’t only need to navigate their role but to also have a platform to find healing and share experiences and be advised on what it takes to be a good man of a community.

Changing lives through awareness and together as a community, we can raise responsible and accountable men!!

The Masakhe Indoda Club for years, has been known as a club that uplifts only men, however, that narrative has been gradually shifting to “what about the boy child”. For a society to thrive with responsible men, there needs to be an intervention at an early stage and that is where Masakhe Indoda Club has decided to be inclusive to as well. Teaching a boy child about responsibility, accountability and equip them on how to be a better man in future.

With this shift, Masakhe Indoda Club collaborated with the Department of Social Development to raise awareness of drug abuse. This insightful session was hosted at Loyiso Senior Secondary School in Gqeberha whereby learners and the school availed themselves to listen and engage in this initiative. The session aimed to educate, empower, and encourage young people to make informed, healthy life choices while building resilience against substance abuse.

With many of our communities riddled with substance abuse and the negative impact it leaves behind, Masakhe Indoda Club aims to make a positive and lasting impact by equipping young people and shaping them for their future while promoting healthier lifestyle and focusing more one their well being as men of tomorrow.

This was a successful session with learners given a platform to also pose questions they have and some were granted an opportunity to identify the causes leading to substance abuse and how it can be prevented.
